The Meiningen Kilometer Marker

A landmark in the border sector of the 2/11 ACR was the Meiningen kilometer marker which rested just inside the East German border at the Eussenhauasen/Meiningen border crossing site. The marker was a silent witness to history as it endured the Cold War. The photos below show the marker as the Iron Curtain evolved over the years. | |
