Honor Roll (Ehrentafel)

Like most military organizations, the Grenztruppen honored their comrades that fell in the line of duty. Since their formation in 1946, twenty-five Grenztruppen border guards were killed while on duty on the Berlin Wall or on the Landesgrenz. In addition to honoring their dead with the Ehrentafel, memorials were also erected, including the East Berlin memorial in the photograph which honors members of the Grenztruppen killed while on duty along the Berlin Wall.  

Listed below are the fallen comrades of the Grenztruppen and its predecessor the Grenzpolizei (Border Police):
