Commentslooking for people that where in H Troop around 1963/64 in Straubing Gemany. I'm looking for the soldier that married Angelika Fillipppi in Straubing Germany around that time. would be interested in how you all are doing. Oh Ya as for this site it's great will continue to come back and check it out. Thanks for your help
CommentsWow!!! With all that is going on in the world and everyone being so busy with doing there "on" thing; it is such a blessing to see a site like this that honestly unites heartfelt emotions without any "commercialism" or selfishness. Keep up all your hard word Ted Prescott, I for one am very touched by all your hard work in keeping this site up and running. Lord bless you!!
CommentsVery nicely done!...may this chapter in German history never be forgotten mad-mike
CommentsBrings back a lot of memories. Border Pilot. 11 ACR 1983-1986 Gareth O'Bannon obannons@erols.com
CommentsYour site and subject brings back many memories of patrols and duty at OP Alpha. I remember how freindly and thankful the people were near the border compared to the some of the German population farther west away and unaware of the Grenze. My lifetime membership in the 11th ACR Border Legion hangs proudly on my wall, dtd August 1980, upon finishing my 27 month tour with C Trp and Bordre Ops. I have remained in the military and it took over 20 years, but once again I wear the black beret. It is not worn quite the same as back in the 70's but it still make me feel more like a soldier.
CommentsOutstanding website from an ex British soldier. i am a collector of DDR militaria, if anyone is interested in trading e mail me. Daz. Dazc9704@collett58.freeserve.co.uk
CommentsWonderful site. A terrific tribute to some terrific people. Michele Dreyer Lynd
CommentsTed, I lost your site when my computer crashed, found it again at last. Great site, even better than before. Would enjoy hearing from 2/11 troopers ('84-'86) sqdn XO or those in HHT Regt (86-88). Glynn Pope (Eaglehorse 5/Blackhorse5) glynnepope@msn.com
CommentsGreat site. I was with the 11th Cav in 1983 through 1985. Was the 1SG of the 19/54th Chemical Det. We were on Downs Bks. Fulda was the best assignment I had in my 20+ years in the army. I'm ay firstsgtcav@yahoo.com
CommentsVery nice site! I served with the 11 A/C (ACR) 1959-1961. The walls and fences are down - we win!
CommentsNICE JOB ON THE SITE- R.G.FOX 3/11 ACR 76-78
CommentsGreat Website I served in the 3rd Armored Division & had the honor of taking my tank company to the border. B/2-67 Armor with Bn Mortar Platoon attached served as the eye's & ear's in the 3/11 ACR sector for 33 days in April-May 1988. This was an interesting time and we had some great soldiers. I am serving as the President of the Association of 3rd Armored Division Veterans. Please visit our website at www.3ad.org Kevin Colson 3 AD 85-89 kcolson@3ad.org
CommentsI was absolutely thrilled to find this site. Even more thrilled to see our 1985 E Trp unit picture. Most that served in the Border Cav will probably agree that it was a love/hate relationship. It was a tough, necessary and highly rewarding tour of duty. Don't you wish sometimes, we could turn back the clock? Guy Kukowski 1/11 79-81, 2/11 84-87, 1/11 92-deactivation. Guy.a.kukowski@intel.com
CommentsExcellent site. Having lived in Leipzig for two years (after Die Wende), I appreciate getting a feel for what it was like prior to 1989.
CommentsI'm excited to find this website! I was there!Downs barracks, Fulda,HHT reg 11th acr 1974-75. J.P. Hancock "Paul" sp4
CommentsThank you for this site and all the memories. Someone did something for us. Let us hope our children never forget. It was 6 years of fun and hell , but WOULD do it all over again. SFC Carey, H Co 2/11 ARC, 1980-1986 BK/Camp Lee
CommentsGood Site!. I served with the 14th ACR which evolved into the 11th ACR, in Fulda, from 1972 to 1974. Interesting times and an interesting assignment. I was with A Troop and spent many a day on the border.

CommentsI rode with the Blackhorse in Eagle Troop from 85-89. We were the best! ALLONS! Mark Flowers markwf99@attbi.com
CommentsThis was CRAP!!!!!!!!
CommentsI won't call you "Ted" you were my Troop Commander. I arrived in the FRG from a CONUS based Cav unit, and arrived as knowledgeable as the average PFC in 3rd Plt, E Trp, 2-11 ACR. By keeping my frozen rear end in the woods most of my tour, I actually became pretty good at my MOS. Graf, Hoenfels, Cp Lee, Alerts, Border Test, Stand-By, Ratf*ck, US Foot, 12 on 12 off at the O.P., LTA, Wildflicken...all former four letter words and now...they're still four letter words! Kiddin, it was fun...sort of. But it was necessary, and I have no regrets. Damn good site sir, and Hooah to all the former members of 2-11 ACR. SFC (RET) M. Arellano 3rd Plt, E Trp, 2-11, 84-87. p.s. 1st platoon ate too much cheese back then.
CommentsMy name is Oscar G Figari I served with Ctroop 1/11th 3rd platoon spent 3 years at the Gap I have fond memories and sad memories specially when I lost my good friend Donny Matlock in a training accident he was the driver of my track C-30

CommentsGreat job on your website!! Brings back a lot of good memories. Workhorse! Cliff 'Killer' K Troop 3/11th Cav. Bad Hersfeld, Germany 1984-1986
CommentsNice site. Served with the 3/14 and the 3/11 between 71-73. Drove border patrol and spent a large amount of time at the border. At the time,we had OP Oscar,South OP,and North OP.Have had a heck of a time trying to contact old troopers from my outfit. Sometimes I think it was all a dream. Had a lot of good times and met a lot of good people. We were there to do a job and we did it quite well. Was stationed at Bad Hersfeld,I Troop 3rd Platoon. Was the driver of a Sheridan named "IT". Bob Miller was the TC and Dave HIles was the gunner. Would like to hear from anyone that was there at that time. jpkb@infonline.net
