Overview

One of the most tradition-bound branches of the Army is the United States Cavalry. The eyes and ears of the Army, the Cavalry has always been out front leading the way. Along the Iron Curtain it was no different. Cavalry units patrolled the border serving in their traditional reconnaissance role and as the covering force for NATO  from 1945 until the fall of the Wall in 1989.

Freedom, though, always has a price, and the Cavalry troopers over the years paid for it with sweat, hardship, and in some cases their lives. This section is dedicated to all our Cavalry comrades both living and fallen who stood watch on the Frontier of Freedom on  those cold Christmas mornings for 44 years. God bless you.
