The Border Sector 1945 - 1989

Throughout the years the border sector of the 2/14 Armored Cavalry Regiment and the  2/11 Armored Cavalry Regiment changed as the Soviets and East German government expanded their plans to stop the citizens of east Germany from fleeing to the West. Starting as nothing more than an imaginary demarcation line in 1945, the Iron Curtain grew into the world's most despised and deadly border.

The following pages of pictures capture these changes in the border sector of 2nd Squadron as troopers from cavalry regiments patrolled the Iron Curtain.
